About
The Cat Cafe – Bugis is a charming urban hideaway in the heart of central Singapore where you can relax with a coffee and spend quality time among cats. Located at 241B Victoria Street, just a short walk from Bugis MRT, this café offers a unique experience for cat-lovers and urban dwellers looking to unwind. The café houses around 15 resident cats, all of which are adopted or re-homed strays with ages commonly in the 8-15 years range, meaning you’ll meet gentle, mellow feline companions rather than hyperactive kittens.
Stepping inside, you’ll find a cozy, well-kept space with floor seating and low tables (though standard tables are available too), allowing friends, couples or solo visitors to settle in comfortably. The ambience is softly tuned for tranquility—ideal for some “cat-therapy” after a busy day in Singapore. The café emphasises respecting the cats’ boundaries: you’re welcome to lounge and pet them when they approach, but there’s a safe retreat area for cats who want their space.
The entry fee covers the first two hours of interaction and includes a complimentary soft drink—after that you can continue your stay for additional fees if you’d like. The menu also caters to café visitors: expect light bites like muffins, potato chips, chicken wraps, baked macaroni or cakes, and a selection of drinks from lattes to juices.
Because the cats tend to be older and more relaxed, many visitors find that late afternoon or early evening visits (around 5-7 pm) are best if you hope for more active interaction—around feeding time the cats often wake and wander more freely. On the flip side, midday visits may find many cats napping, which may offer a quieter, more meditative experience but less petting action.
The Cat Cafe – Bugis is a mellow, well-designed spot in central Singapore that combines café comfort with the company of friendly senior cats in a respectful environment. Whether you’re bringing friends, a date, or simply looking to relax with a furry companion, it offers a unique and soothing addition to pet-friendly Singapore’s café scene. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends or public holidays.
