About
We recently discovered Chimi’s Somerset, a gem tucked away along the outdoor discovery walk at 313@Somerset, and we couldn’t wait to bring our furry friends along to experience this vibrant eatery. Chimi’s Somerset has quickly become a favourite among Singapore’s pet-loving community, and after spending an afternoon there with our dogs, we completely understand why. This is a restaurant that truly welcomes four-legged guests with open arms, making it an ideal destination for dog owners looking for a dining experience that doesn’t mean leaving their beloved companions behind.
The concept of Chimi’s Somerset is refreshingly unique — housed in a shipping container, it exudes a cool, funky aesthetic that immediately sets it apart from your typical restaurant scene. We loved the casual, laid-back atmosphere that permeates the space, making it the perfect spot for weekend outings with your pup. The restaurant represents Singapore’s thriving food and beverage scene that caters to modern pet-owner lifestyles. When we arrived at Chimi’s Somerset with our dogs, we were impressed by how naturally pets fit into the dining environment, from the welcoming staff to the practical layout that accommodates both humans and their furry companions.
One of the highlights of our visit to Chimi’s Somerset was exploring their Sing-Mex menu, which cleverly blends traditional Mexican cuisine with flavours catered to the Singaporean palate. We sampled their signature Borracho Fish Tacos, which were absolutely delicious, and the variety of Sing-Mex bites available shows real creativity in the kitchen. The menu extends beyond just food — Chimi’s Somerset boasts an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails, with special attention paid to their signature flavoured margaritas. If beer is more your style, they brew their own craft beer called Neon Donkey, and we have to say, it pairs perfectly with the outdoor dining experience. For those looking to save a bit, happy hour runs from noon to 7pm daily, featuring wine at just $10 and prosecco at $11.
The outdoor seating at Chimi’s Somerset is undoubtedly one of its greatest assets for pet owners. We settled into the alfresco area with our dogs comfortably by our sides, enjoying the open-air ambiance that characterises the discovery walk. There’s something special about dining outdoors in the heart of the Somerset area while watching the world go by, and having your dog there makes the experience even more enjoyable. The outdoor setup feels genuinely designed with pets in mind, and the staff at Chimi’s Somerset were genuinely friendly and attentive to our dogs throughout our visit, asking about them and ensuring they were comfortable at all times.
We found that Chimi’s Somerset operates from noon to 11pm daily, giving plenty of flexibility for those planning a lunch, dinner, or even an after-work gathering with their pups. The location itself is incredibly convenient, nestled within the 313@Somerset complex, which means there’s easy foot traffic and a vibrant surrounding area to explore before or after your meal. The combination of excellent Sing-Mex cuisine, creative craft beverages, comfortable outdoor seating, and genuine pet-friendly hospitality makes Chimi’s Somerset a standout destination in the Orchard Road belt.
As a venue that has carved out its own identity within the Somerset dining landscape, Chimi’s Somerset has clearly built a culture that genuinely values pet-owning patrons. The combination of excellent food, creative beverages, comfortable outdoor seating, and genuine pet-friendly hospitality makes Chimi’s Somerset a standout destination for anyone looking to enjoy dining out without leaving their furry friends at home. We’ll certainly be returning with our pups for more tacos, margaritas, and happy memories in the heart of Somerset.
